SPARC OF HOPE RUN & WALK CHANGED TO A VIRTUAL FORMAT!
The safety of our volunteers, runners and walkers are important to us. Due to increased community cases of coronavirus we have made the difficult decision to shift to a fully virtual format this year. Although we miss gathering in-person as a group; we look forward to staying united virtually! We encourage all runners/walkers to complete a 5K in your neighborhood or chosen course, as individuals, with your dogs, or safely distanced with your team "pod." Please join the rest of the SPARC of Hope community for our virtual program on Saturday, October 23rd at 9 AM! This virtual program will include our speakers, Brandon and Jordan Brooks. Brandon is a Firefighter/Medic with Albemarle County Fire and Rescue and Jordan is our Regional Suicide Prevention Initiative Coordinator and they will be sharing their personal story of recovery and hope. We will also have a raffle drawing, acknowledgements, and updates about the work of suicide prevention in our area!
SPARC t-shirts, honor beads, bibs, an outdoor scavenger hunt, and other items from our sponsors will be available the week before the walk and we encourage ALL participants to pick up your items during the week of October 18th. It is our hope that you can then wear and use these items during your walk/run, take photos, and share these on social media with #SPARCOFHOPE2021 so that we may spread community awareness virtually throughout the weekend of October 23rd.
We will be sharing important details on our website, and to all participants by email as we get closer to the event. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to helping raise awareness & encourage those affected by suicide. We look forward to seeing you virtually soon!
All walkers/runners are welcome.
